Monitoring & Automatic

Reporting System (MARS)

The MARS (Monitor & Automatic Reporting System) is a low-cost system for monitoring and controlling equipment in unattended locations. The MARS can be connected to many types of sensing and control modules. All configuration, communications and control is managed with standard PCs using the intuitive and easy to use MARS software.

In its basic configuration, the MARS is intended to operate in remote unattended headends or hubs. The MARS reports system status or failures according to parameter defined by the user. The MARS can control addressable AC power strips or contact closures to switch equipment, provide resets, and perform other functions remotely.

Now as an available option, the MARS RF can stream back Audio/Video to anywhere there is an internet connection.

By diagnosing problems remotely, cable operators can make more informed decisions, saving time and money. Cable operators can provide improved customer service by responding quickly to failures and reassuring their customer that the system is constantly monitored, inspiring customer satisfaction and loyalty.

MARS Module

Detects the presence or absence of RF, video, & audio of every channel from any type of analog NTSC modulator and the presence or absence of QAM carriers

Connects to multiple voltage, temperature & condition sensors using an I2C bus

Communicates a fault in the event that headend power or DC power to the MARS fails utilizing an on-card backup battery

Stores fault and recovery information in the MARS memory and an onboard modem immediately sends the information to as many as four remote PCs

Voltage Sensor
Monitors numerous AC and DC voltages via multiple voltage sensors

Temperature
Sensor

Reports a fault if the temperature rises outside of the desired range in up to 8 locations
Condition Sensor
Configures to monitor the status of up to 9 switched inputs
Power Strip
Addressable 8-outlet power strip
Switch Addressable 8-terminal switch configurable in active high, active low, or tri-state mode
PC Software

Prepares the database and configures the MARS modules

Stores site status reports in the database

Displays status records, allowing the user to identify problem areas

Sends commands to activate remote control functions
